UAE revived their campaign in the Asia Cup 2025 with a commanding 42-run victory over Oman on Monday. Batting first after winning the toss, UAE posted 172/5 in their allotted overs, led by a fine 69 off 54 balls from skipper Muhammad Waseem and a crucial 51 off 38 from Alishan Sharafu. Late cameos from Muhammad Zohaib (21 off 13) and Harshit Kaushik (19 off 8) helped push the total beyond Oman’s reach. For Oman, Jithen Ramanandi claimed two wickets, while Hasnain Shah and Samya Shrivastava picked up one each.
In reply, Oman were bowled out for 130 in 18.4 overs, failing to counter UAE’s disciplined attack. Only Jatinder Singh (20), Aryan Bist (24) and Vinayak Shukla (20) offered resistance, as Junaid Siddique starred with the ball taking 4/23. Haider Ali and Muhammad Jawadullah bagged two wickets each, while Muhammad Rohid picked up one. The defeat eliminated Oman from the Super 4 race, while Pakistan now face a must-win clash against UAE to secure their spot. India have already sealed their place in the Super 4 after winning their first two matches, leaving Pakistan under pressure to avoid an early exit.
