AP CM Chandrababu Welcomes Union Budget 2025

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has extended his support to the Union Budget 2025, highlighting the significant tax exemptions for the middle class. He commended the budget for aligning with Prime Minister Modi’s vision of a developed India and for prioritizing welfare measures for the poor, women, and farmers. Naidu also noted that the budget has identified six key sectors for growth over the next five years. He congratulated the central government and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for their historic decisions.

Union Minister Ram Mohan Naidu, addressing the budget, expressed pride in Finance Minister Sitharaman’s speech, quoting Telugu poet Gurajada Apparao, “The nation is not the land, but the people.” He described the decision to offer tax exemptions up to Rs 12 lakh as a landmark move that would benefit middle-class families across the nation. Naidu emphasized that no previous government had made such a provision and urged all to celebrate the development, irrespective of party affiliations.

The central government has also approved a revision of the Polavaram project’s construction cost to Rs 30,436.95 crore. In the Union Budget, Rs 5,936 crore has been allocated for the project, along with an additional Rs 54 crore earmarked for the Polavaram Project Authority. The approved water storage height of 41.15 meters was also mentioned as part of the project’s progress.

On the other hand, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy criticized the central budget for not allocating sufficient funds for the state. Speaking at a meeting with state ministers and finance officials, Reddy expressed his dissatisfaction with the budgetary provisions for Telangana. Reports suggest that he is planning to instruct Congress MPs to demand increased financial allocations for the state and push the central government for a fairer share of funding.
