Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Chief and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu has shared good news with the state’s residents regarding the promised free gas cylinder scheme. On Wednesday, he made a significant announcement that the scheme will be implemented starting this Diwali. He stated that the first free gas cylinder will be provided to eligible beneficiaries on the festival day and confirmed that, as promised during the assembly elections, three free gas cylinders will be distributed to the poor each year.
The announcement came during an Andhra Pradesh Cabinet meeting chaired by Chandrababu on Wednesday, where several key decisions were made by the ministerial council. As part of these decisions, the Cabinet approved the implementation of the free gas cylinder scheme. Chandrababu clarified that the government will distribute three free gas cylinders annually to eligible beneficiaries starting in November.
It is noteworthy that the TDP, along with its coalition partners Jana Sena and BJP, achieved a decisive victory in the assembly elections held in May of this year, securing a significant majority in power. The coalition has prioritized the fulfillment of electoral promises, leading to the announcement of the free gas cylinder scheme on Wednesday.
