Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has announced that 1 lakh houses will be distributed to beneficiaries as part of the state’s housing initiative on January 3, 2025, marking the New Year. The distribution ceremony will take place in a district where the Chief Minister will personally hand over house keys to homeowners and engage with the public to address local governance and other concerns.

In addition, the state government has approved the construction of 6.40 lakh houses under the “Prime Minister Awas Yojana – NTR Housing” scheme, with 1 lakh houses already completed. The government aims to complete these housing projects by March 2026.
The state government has also made provisions for free land distribution to the underprivileged, with 2 cents allocated in urban areas and 3 cents in rural areas. The government has set a target to provide 25 lakh houses/plots over the next five years. Furthermore, additional financial assistance will be provided to Scheduled Tribes (ST), Scheduled Castes (SC), and weaver communities. The government has decided to allocate an additional Rs. 50,000 for SCs, Rs. 75,000 for STs, and Rs. 50,000 for weavers for house construction.
