Speaking to the media after a meeting with the Cabinet sub-committee and leaders of employee unions, Chandrababu said the decision was aimed at alleviating financial difficulties faced by government staff. He also announced promotions for RTC employees as part of the Diwali celebrations and confirmed that government employees could avail 180 days of child care leave at any time.
Highlighting the importance of government employees in the state’s development, the CM criticized the previous administration for leaving Rs 7,000 crore in pending DA payments. He accused the YSR Congress Party of financial mismanagement, asserting that the current government is committed to addressing the welfare of state employees and ensuring timely salary and allowance payments.
