Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Chandrababu, has made crucial decisions to advance development initiatives, including completing the Amaravati capital project and revitalizing the Jal Jeevan Mission.
Amaravati Development
The Cabinet approved a Rs 33,000 crore loan for 45 key projects in Amaravati. Of this, Rs 11,000 crore will be borrowed through HUDCO, while Rs 5,000 crore will be sourced from Germany-based KfW. The Cabinet also sanctioned the rescheduling of loans for flood-affected areas in ten districts, including Budameru.
Jal Jeevan Mission
To address delays in the Jal Jeevan Mission, the Cabinet decided to cancel tenders for works that were 25% complete and reissue them to expedite the project.

Green Energy Investments
The Cabinet approved the establishment of a joint venture with NTPC for renewable energy projects, with a total investment of Rs 1.7 lakh crore. This initiative, in partnership with the Renewable Energy Development Corporation, is expected to create 1.06 lakh job opportunities. Additionally, the Cabinet sanctioned loans of Rs 1,000 crore through Markfed for paddy procurement and approved the retendering of works for the Polavaram left canal and the Punganur Branch Canal lining.
Midday Meal Expansion
In a significant move to support education, the Cabinet extended the midday meal scheme to 475 junior colleges, benefiting approximately 1.41 lakh students statewide.
These decisions reflect the Andhra Pradesh government’s commitment to infrastructure development, clean energy initiatives, and the welfare of its citizens.
