The ongoing controversy surrounding the Tirupati Laddu has taken a sensational turn, with Kiran Royal, the Jana Sena Party’s Tirupati constituency in-charge, alleging a ₹500 crore scam in the sales of the famed laddus. He criticized YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leaders for undermining the sanctity of Tirumala, stating that if the laddu controversy had emerged before the elections, Jagan Mohan Reddy would have faced a severe defeat. In a press conference held on Sunday, Kiran Royal warned that anyone speaking disparagingly about the laddu would “face consequences.”
Kiran Royal emphasized the need for Jagan Mohan Reddy, Y.V. Subba Reddy, and Dharmareddy to participate in a religious ritual scheduled for the following day at Tirumala. He challenged them to visit Tirumala and present their apologies. He claimed that hundreds of crores were misappropriated during the YSRCP’s tenure and stated that the Jana Sena Party would not back down until arrests were made in the laddu controversy. He further called out actor Prakash Raj, labeling him an atheist and warning that any further comments he made about the laddu would not be tolerated. Kiran Royal expressed outrage over the ticketing scandal involving Ministers Roja and Peddireddy, claiming that they sold thousands of tickets daily during their ministerial tenure and suggesting that jail time for them is inevitable.
