Recent days have seen an upsurge in online discussions surrounding a woman, referred to as the ‘Lady Aghori,’ who declared her intention to perform a self-sacrifice at the Muthyalamma Temple in Secunderabad on October 31. Upon learning of her plan, police took swift action, detaining her and subsequently relocating her to her family home in Kushanpalli village, Mancherial district, where her parents reside.
From Aghora to Aghori?
An intriguing conversation on social media has surfaced regarding her identity. Netizens have shared a photo claiming she previously led a life as an Aghora, adopting the Aghori path later. Images showing her with a beard and wearing Rudraksha beads around her neck have gone viral. However, questions remain over whether these photos indeed depict the same person.
Viral Temple Incidents and Public Backlash
The ‘Lady Aghori’ drew attention after performing controversial rituals in several temples across Telangana, most notably at the Muthyalamma Temple, where she was reported to have conducted ceremonies in the nude. Her actions sparked a range of reactions online, including critical comments from some individuals, which reportedly angered her. Following this, she posted a video announcing her return to Telangana on October 29.
True to her word, she arrived on October 29, reaffirming her commitment to what she described as a fight for Sanatan Dharma. She stated that her proposed self-sacrifice on October 31 at the Muthyalamma Temple would either lead her to join Lord Shiva or further her cause for Sanatan Dharma if she survived. However, police intervention ultimately prevented the ritual, and she was taken into custody.
