The National Education Policy (NEP) has become a subject of widespread discussion across the country. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin recently criticized the three-language policy, alleging that Hindi is being imposed and asserting that it has contributed to the disappearance of 25 regional languages. He reiterated that this was the primary reason for Tamil Nadu’s opposition to the NEP.

Responding to the issue, Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh addressed the topic at the India Today Conclave. He stated that the three-language policy does not undermine regional languages and that the NDA government is committed to strengthening mother tongues. “I do not believe Hindi is being imposed. Several employment opportunities are emerging in countries like Germany and Japan for nurses and homecare professionals. Learning multiple languages is essential in today’s globalized world,” he said.

Nara Lokesh also commented on the delimitation of Lok Sabha constituencies, acknowledging concerns that states that have successfully controlled population growth may face an impact. He affirmed continued support for the NDA and stated that any concerns would be addressed through discussions. Additionally, he criticized certain states for using the delimitation process as part of their electoral agenda.
