The Andhra Pradesh government has announced revisions to registration fees for both rural and urban areas, set to take effect from February 1. The Stamps and Registration Department, under the direction of Special Chief Secretary RP Sisodia, has been instructed to ensure the new charges are implemented promptly.
According to the government notification, the registration fees will be adjusted based on the market value of properties in different regions. This revision may result in either an increase or decrease in fees depending on the locality.

As the changes approach, there has been a noticeable increase in foot traffic at registration offices, with citizens rushing to complete transactions before the new fees are applied. Currently, the registration process is continuing under the old fee structure. Under previous policy, registration fees were revised annually in urban areas and once every two years in rural areas. The opposition has criticized the former YSRCP government for implementing steep fee hikes under a special revision, burdening the public financially. Following a review, the current coalition government has decided to amend the registration fees in line with market conditions.
