Hyderabad: IAS officer Aravind Kumar appeared before the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today for questioning regarding the ongoing investigation into the Formula E-car race. A team of three ACB officials conducted the interrogation, with reports indicating that Kumar was questioned extensively about the funds transfer related to the event. The ACB reportedly raised concerns about the cash transfer to a foreign company, allegedly violating regulations. Kumar was also questioned about the motives behind the transaction and whether the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) had granted approval for the fund transfer.

Cash Release Ordered by KTR
During the interrogation, Kumar clarified that the cash release was carried out under the direct orders of K.T. Rama Rao (KTR). ACB officials are said to have questioned why the release took place without Cabinet approval. Additionally, inquiries were made regarding the reason for withdrawing from the Greenko sponsorship. Kumar’s statement has been officially recorded, and based on his responses, the ACB is expected to question KTR in the coming days.
KTR Granted Limited Relief by High Court
In a separate development, K.T. Rama Rao received some relief from the High Court. The court ordered that the ongoing investigation be conducted under CCTV surveillance and allowed KTR to sit in the lawyer’s library room during the proceedings. However, the court clarified that his lawyer would not be permitted inside the interrogation room. The court further suggested that if KTR had any objections regarding the investigation, he could approach the court for resolution.
