Addressing the media, KTR alleged that the Congress government awarded irrigation projects worth thousands of crores to Megha Engineering in return for massive electoral funding. “Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy and Megha Krishna Reddy jointly secured the Rs 4,600 crore Kodangal Lift Irrigation project, splitting it between themselves like a cake. In 2022-23, Megha Engineering contributed hundreds of crores to the Congress party through electoral bonds,” KTR claimed.

The BRS leader pointed out that despite serious violations, including the collapse of a retaining wall at the Sunkishala project, Megha Engineering has not been blacklisted. He questioned Telangana Congress chief Revanth Reddy’s silence on the matter.

“After the retaining wall collapse, HMWS recommended blacklisting Megha Engineering. Why hasn’t Revanth acted on it? Is this another quid pro quo? Are projects being awarded in return for electoral bonds?” KTR asked, adding, “A broker is acting as the Chief Minister, and a contractor is functioning as a minister.”
KTR also alleged that Megha Engineering is in line to bag the Rs 4,000 crore Mallanna Sagar project and is holding discussions for the Musi project as well. He further accused the Congress party of favoring contractors in exchange for financial benefits, warning of serious repercussions if these deals continue.
