TDP leader Budda Venkanna has sharply criticized filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, accusing him of making controversial films with the backing of the previous government. Venkanna claimed that Varma produced films designed to insult political figures such as Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan, and Nara Lokesh, and gained satisfaction from sharing morphed images on social media. He further alleged that Varma is now evading legal scrutiny and hiding without a permanent address.
In his remarks, Venkanna challenged Varma to admit that his actions were justified and stand firm, questioning whether Varma had any shame. He suggested that Varma should create films about figures like Kodali Nani, Vamsi, and Avinash, who had been subjects of controversy.
Venkanna also took aim at Varma’s personal life, accusing him of abandoning his mother and daughters. He suggested that Varma would not dare speak against former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, who allegedly sent his own mother and sister abroad. Venkanna raised questions about Jagan’s stance on the film Vivekam, asking why Jagan had not acknowledged the filmmakers or reacted to the appointment of the Vyuham movie producer to the TTD board.

Accusing Jagan of collaborating with Varma to target Chandrababu Naidu, Venkanna claimed that Jagan is now defending Varma without shame. He predicted that key leaders from the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) are preparing to leave the party, which he believes will soon be empty. Venkanna also expressed concern about Jagan’s mental state, alleging that he was behind social media posts targeting Naidu and his family, which were reportedly organized from the Tadepalli Palace.
