In response to a legal case filed against the Adani Group, the Kenyan government has made a key decision to revoke several agreements with the conglomerate. Kenyan President William Ruto announced the cancellation of the airport and electricity supply line contracts.
The electricity supply line project, established under a public-private partnership for 30 years, was valued at $736 million. This agreement with the Adani Group has now been put on hold.

Regarding the airport project, local opposition had been growing against the handover to the Adani Group. Citizens expressed concerns about awarding such contracts to foreign entities instead of their own countrymen. As a result, the airport project has also been suspended.
President Ruto issued an official statement on the matter, and it is reported that the Kenyan Ministry of Transport and Energy has been instructed to take appropriate actions in light of these developments.
