Amid speculations that the Revanth Reddy-led government in Telangana is set to increase electricity charges for the general public, DISCOM CMD Musharraf has stepped forward to clarify the situation. He categorically stated that there are no plans to raise electricity tariffs for ordinary consumers, dismissing the rumors as false.
Musharraf also reassured that high-tension industrial users will not face any additional burden in the form of increased charges. He further mentioned that a proposal has been submitted to the state government to increase fixed charges by Rs 50 only for consumers who exceed 300 units of electricity per month, clarifying that this would not impact the majority of users in the state.
