Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister made significant comments regarding the decline in population in South India, urging couples to have more than two children. He added that the government is considering offering incentives to families with more children.
Opportunities for Families with More Children
During a meeting with officials on Sunday, Chandrababu made these crucial remarks, stating that in future local elections, preference will be given to those with more than two children. He also mentioned that the existing law would be repealed, and a new law regarding children would soon be introduced. He highlighted that in many villages across Andhra Pradesh and other states, the elderly population is growing.
Instructions to Officials on Gurla Incident
As part of the meeting, Chandrababu also reviewed the situation in Gurla, Cheepurupalli constituency, Vizianagaram district, where eight people had died due to diarrhea. He inquired about the village’s condition and the medical assistance provided to the victims. After speaking with health officials, it was confirmed that the deaths were caused by diarrhea. The district officials informed that medical camps had been set up and safe drinking water was being supplied. The CM directed senior IAS officer K. Vijayanand to conduct a full investigation into the incident.
