Amaravati,: Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has officially resumed the construction work for the state capital, Amaravati. The project involves the development of an eight-story CRDA office building, initially launched in 2017 with a budget of Rs 160 crore during the previous TDP administration. The construction was halted midway but has now been restarted.

The ceremonial restart took place at Uddandarayunipalem in Thulluru Mandal, where Chief Minister Naidu performed a puja to mark the occasion. The new building will be constructed on a site measuring 3.62 acres and will feature a G+7 structure, with an additional 2.51 acres designated for landscaping and parking.

During the event, Naidu emphasized the significance of the project, stating, “We have gathered here to rewrite history.” He recalled the difficulties faced by the people of Andhra Pradesh following the bifurcation of the state and expressed pride in his administration’s efforts to develop Hyderabad. He noted the foresight in constructing eight-lane roads in Cyberabad, addressing past skepticism about land allocations, including five acres for Shamshabad Airport.

Naidu highlighted that land for Amaravati was acquired through negotiations with farmers, asserting that a total of 54 acres have been gathered for the capital’s development. He vowed to establish Amaravati as one of the top five cities in the world.

Minister Ponguru Narayana and MLA Tenali Sravan Kumar were also present at the ceremony. They criticized the previous government, claiming it failed to govern effectively and was instead run by police administration.
