Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has reportedly advised officials to conduct the upcoming Group-1 main exams as originally scheduled, following a series of controversies surrounding the potential postponement of the examination. This directive comes in light of recent media inquiries regarding the Group-1 situation, particularly during a press conference where the CM chose not to address the topic, leading to public speculation and dissatisfaction.

In a recent press conference, when asked if the Group-1 exams would be postponed or if the candidates’ demands would be considered, the Chief Minister deferred the discussion, stating, “Let’s talk about it later.” This response has fueled outrage among candidates who are seeking clarity on the matter. Unemployed candidates had earlier approached the PCC Chief at Gandhi Bhavan, hoping for assurance on the postponement, but the CM’s lack of response has heightened their frustration and uncertainty regarding future actions.

Candidates are calling for the cancellation of G.O. 29 and insist that examinations should proceed under the provisions of the previous G.O. 55. They have raised concerns that the new notification would limit opportunities for new candidates within the 503 posts outlined in the prior notification. Additionally, they are demanding that only the 60 posts introduced by the Congress government be allocated to new applicants. The candidates are also urging for corrections to be made regarding errors in the preliminary exams and resolution of pending court cases related to reservations. Their demands include maintaining reservations and open category allocations according to the earlier notification.

According to official reports, 31,382 candidates have qualified for the Group-1 mains out of a total of 3.02 lakh candidates who appeared for the preliminary exams held on June 9. The government has released the schedule for the Group-1 mains exams, set to take place from October 21 to 27. However, candidates continue to advocate for a rescheduling of the mains examinations.
