The controversy began when Congress workers set up a flex banner that did not feature an image of MLA Revuri Prakash Reddy, leading to clashes between the two factions.

In response to the situation, Konda Surekha’s supporters were staging a dharna near the Dharmaram railway gate when police intervened and took them into custody. This led to a volatile situation in Ghisugonda, where Konda Surekha’s supporters reportedly attacked Revuri Prakash Reddy’s faction. Following this, Revuri Prakash Reddy filed a complaint with the Ghisugonda police, resulting in the arrest of three individuals. In reaction to the arrest of her supporters, Konda Surekha expressed her anger by causing a commotion at the police station.
