Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy delivered a strong criticism of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders during the unveiling ceremony of Rajiv Gandhi’s statue on Monday. Addressing the gathering in front of the state secretariat, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expressed his frustration over the necessity to repeatedly address the criticisms from certain individuals despite his preference not to engage with them.
In his speech, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy condemned the disparaging remarks made by some critics and stressed the importance of acknowledging the significant contributions of the Gandhi family to India’s independence and national integrity. He highlighted the Gandhi family’s efforts in establishing irrigation projects and distributing land pattas to Dalits and tribals, emphasizing their role in shaping the country.
The Chief Minister defended Rajiv Gandhi’s legacy, praising his initiatives such as extending voting rights to the youth and empowering women. Revanth Reddy underscored the impact of these reforms on India’s development and criticized the critics for their lack of understanding of governance and policy.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy also issued a warning regarding the installation of Telangana’s mother statue, asserting his commitment to ensuring its prominent placement. He accused the critics of neglecting Telangana’s symbols and pledged to make the statue a significant and celebrated feature.
In his concluding remarks, Revanth Reddy urged the public to reject the “locusts” of corruption and misrule that have plagued the state over the past decade, calling for continued efforts to combat such elements.
