The Telangana High Court has expressed dissatisfaction with the manner in which demolitions are being conducted in Hyderabad. The court questioned the process of demolishing structures without prior notice and has directed the government to provide an explanation regarding Government Order (GO) 99.
A petition challenging the GO 99 has been filed in the Telangana High Court. Petitioner Lakshmi has brought to the court’s attention that three sheds in Ameenpur were demolished without any notice. She argued that despite the court’s interim orders, the demolitions continued. The court has instructed the government to file a counter-response and has postponed further hearings for two weeks.
