The court has put a hold on YSRC Chief and former Chief Minister Jagan’s trip to London. Jagan has postponed his London journey as his diplomatic passport was canceled following his departure from office. In this context, Jagan has applied for a general passport and his lawyers have filed a petition requesting a five-year passport validity. The Vijayawada court has ordered the issuance of a passport for one year. The court has deferred the hearing on Jagan’s petition to Monday.
Previously, in the case of illicit assets, the CBI court had granted regular bail to both Y.S. Jagan and Vijay Sai Reddy, subject to several conditions, including obtaining prior permission for foreign travel. After his recent defeat in the assembly elections, Jagan sought permission from the CBI court to visit London, where his daughter is studying.
With the court granting permission, Jagan had planned to travel to London. However, he has now filed another petition with the Vijayawada CBI court seeking permission for another trip to London. It remains to be seen whether the court will grant this request. As Jagan was scheduled to depart today, the court’s decision to delay the petition has resulted in his London trip being postponed.
