Sugali Preethi’s parents appeal to Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan for justice

Sugali Preethi’s parents met with Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan in Mangalagiri this evening, presenting a memorandum and expressing their distress. They urged Pawan Kalyan to ensure that the injustice inflicted on their daughter does not befall any other child. Preethi, who was assaulted and murdered, had her case handed over to the CBI by the previous government. However, Preethi’s mother claims that no action has been taken despite several requests for a CBI probe.

During the meeting, Parvathy Devi, Preethi’s mother, requested Pawan Kalyan to ensure justice in the case. Pawan Kalyan responded affirmatively, stating that he would consult with police officials to address the matter.

Sugali Preethi, the daughter of S. Raju Nayak and S. Parvathi Devi, was a resident of Lakshmi Garden on the outskirts of Kurnool city. She was a Class 10 student at Kattamanchi Ramalinga Reddy Residential School, run by a local politician. On August 19, 2017, Preethi was found dead, having allegedly hanged herself from a fan. Her parents, however, allege that she did not die by suicide but was raped and murdered by the school owner’s sons.

The post-mortem conducted by Dr. Shankar at Kurnool Government Hospital confirmed signs of rape, as stated in the preliminary report dated August 20, 2017. Dr. G. Baleswari, HOD of Pathology, also submitted a report on August 21, 2017, corroborating these findings. Based on this evidence, the victim’s parents filed a complaint against the school owner’s sons at the local police station. Despite ongoing investigations, Preethi’s parents are concerned about the lack of progress in the case.
