Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka asserted that the people of Telangana have ended a decade of chaotic rule. He criticized the previous BRS government, claiming it failed on all fronts and left the state debt-ridden. “In the last 10 years, the government’s debt has increased ten-fold due to financial mismanagement. Debts have surged while bill arrears have accumulated,” he stated.

In the annual budget for 2024-25, the Revanth Reddy government has emphasized the development of Hyderabad, sanctioning Rs 10,000 crore for various projects in the city. Key allocations include Rs 3,385 crore for metro water works, Rs 500 crore for the Hyderabad Metro Rail project, Rs 100 crore for the metro expansion to the airport, Rs 1,500 crore for the Musi River front project, Rs 1,525 crore for the RRR project, and Rs 200 crore for ORR development.

Presenting a comprehensive budget with a total outlay of Rs 2,91,159 crore, the Revanth government has prioritized welfare, particularly in the agriculture sector. Significant allocations include Rs 72,659 crore for agriculture and allied sectors, Rs 737 crore for the horticulture department, Rs 1,980 crore for the animal husbandry department, and Rs 22,301 crore for the irrigation sector. The budget reflects the government’s commitment to development and welfare, aiming to address the needs of Hyderabad and boost the agriculture sector.
