The Indian Army is actively conducting two anti-terrorist operations in South Kashmir. Shortly after the first operation commenced, another incident of firing erupted in Chinigam village. Acting on intelligence inputs about the Lashkar group, security forces reached the area and engaged in a fierce exchange of gunfire. Tragically, two soldiers were killed and several others were injured, who were promptly admitted to a nearby hospital. In the encounter, four terrorists were neutralized by the Army.

In a separate development, two Border Security Force (BSF) personnel, including an assistant sub-inspector, were martyred in road accidents in Kathua and Udhampur districts of Jammu and Kashmir. Officials reported that a vehicle skidded off the road near Rajbagh in Kathua district and plunged into the Ujh canal, resulting in the death of ASI Parshotam Singh from Himachal Pradesh, while two of his colleagues survived. The region has witnessed multiple encounters between security forces and terrorists in recent days, marking the sixth encounter in less than a month. The Indian Army has successfully eliminated nearly 10 terrorists in this period.
