High tension gripped Patna, the capital of Bihar, as a “Gen Z” protest movement erupted over allegations that the question paper for the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) preliminary examination had been leaked. Thousands of students and job aspirants took to the streets in a massive demonstration, voicing anger over the alleged breach.

The protesting candidates demanded that the examinations affected by the alleged leak be cancelled immediately, an investigation be launched into the matter, and a fresh preliminary examination be conducted thereafter. As the agitation intensified, authorities deployed a heavy police presence across the city to maintain law and order.

The situation soon escalated into a tense confrontation between police and demonstrators. Protesters tore down barricades erected by police using large logs and stones, prompting officials to attempt to restrain the crowd, which further inflamed tensions between the two sides.
