Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has stated clearly that the world has recognised Iran’s victory in its prolonged war with the United States. Iranian media reports quoting Pezeshkian’s remarks, in which he called on the US to now accept defeat and bring the war to an end, have caused a stir. Notably, Iranian media described the country’s sustained control over the Strait of Hormuz and its refusal to accept US conditions as its own victory. Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump said that while Washington continues to urge Iran to reach an agreement, the country has still not accepted the terms the US is seeking. Trump said the war has plunged Iran’s economy into a severe crisis, with inflation in the country rising sharply. He notably stated that the United States maintains full control over the Strait of Hormuz as well as the surrounding border areas.

Iran also alleged that the aggressive stance pursued by US President Donald Trump has once again triggered a global nuclear arms race. Iran expressed the view that America’s military actions have severely undermined global nuclear security. Mohsen Rezaei, head of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, made these remarks, alleging that Trump’s actions were also heightening security concerns in other countries. He argued that US policies are encouraging countries without nuclear weapons to consider acquiring them for their own defence, warning that this is increasing the risk of nuclear proliferation worldwide.

At the same time, Rezaei made clear that Iran would not bow to US pressure, warning that neighbouring countries cooperating with the US against Iran would face serious consequences. He further warned that if Trump were to resort to military action once again, Iran would respond on a massive scale. Meanwhile, Egypt has once again begun efforts to revive talks between the US and Iran, with Egyptian officials initiating consultations with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. Egypt stated that, even as war tensions continue, efforts are underway to resolve the issue through diplomatic channels.
