A key twist has emerged in the case of missing toddler Gnaneshwari from Tuni in Kakinada district, with police intensifying their kidnapping-angle investigation after nearly 30 days passed with no trace of the child. Fresh CCTV footage has revealed that a Kia car was spotted moving suspiciously around CH Agraharam on the day the child went missing, prompting strong suspicion from her parents and relatives.
Family members have pointed to a significant detail bolstering their suspicion: the same Kia car reportedly hit Gnaneshwari’s grandfather hard in Narsipatnam that same day, with the driver speeding away without stopping after the accident. Given the car’s suspicious presence near the disappearance site and the hit-and-run in Narsipatnam around the same time, the family strongly believes the vehicle is linked to the kidnapping, and following their complaint, police have accelerated the investigation, gathering details on the car.
The disappearance of the two-year-old from CH Agraharam in Tuni mandal has caused a major stir across Andhra Pradesh. Gnaneshwari vanished on June 6 while playing in a garden, disappearing within just 15 minutes as her mother cooked inside the house. A villager last saw the child walking toward a hill along with a pet dog, and clues teams recovered clothing fragments, strands of hair, and some fingerprints near an iron fence in the garden.
Police and SDRF teams, using drones and dog squads, have combed nearly 1,000 acres of forest area, but with no definite trace found yet, Tuni police have officially announced a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh for anyone providing information about the child.
