Weather officials have forecast widespread rainfall across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for the next three days due to a low-pressure area formed over the Bay of Bengal. The system is expected to bring moderate to heavy rains in several parts of both states, with authorities urging people to remain alert. In Telangana, officials said the undivided districts of Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Warangal, and Khammam are likely to witness heavy rainfall.

According to the AP State Disaster Management Authority, the low-pressure area formed near the north Odisha and West Bengal coasts, adjacent to the northwest Bay of Bengal. The system is expected to intensify further over the next two to three days, likely triggering strong winds of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour.

The disaster management authority has warned of light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning in Srikakulam, Polavaram, Konaseema, West Godavari, and Eluru districts of AP. Light to heavy rains are also expected intermittently in other districts across the state. Officials have advised farmers and the general public to avoid stepping outdoors, warning of the possibility of lightning strikes, and recommended venturing out only in emergencies.
