A major road accident in Uttar Pradesh’s Mirzapur district claimed 11 lives after a speeding gravel-laden truck lost control and rammed into a car, triggering a chain collision. The impact pushed the car into a nearby Bolero vehicle, which immediately caught fire, with flames spreading rapidly and engulfing the vehicle within moments.
All 11 occupants in the Bolero were trapped inside and were burnt alive as they could not escape the blaze. Police and fire personnel rushed to the spot and launched rescue operations, while preliminary reports indicate that brake failure of the truck may have caused the accident. Authorities said the identification of the victims is proving difficult as the bodies were completely charred.
