Telangana politics has turned highly dynamic with the undivided Karimnagar district emerging as the epicentre of political activity. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and BRS chief K. Chandrashekar Rao are holding parallel public meetings, further intensifying the political atmosphere in the state. Amid this backdrop, the developments surrounding the BRS party have drawn significant attention.

As the BRS is set to organise a major public meeting in Jagityala, where KCR is expected to address the gathering, senior party leader T. Harish Rao has unexpectedly travelled to Delhi along with former MP Vinod Kumar. Their sudden visit has triggered intense political speculation across the state, especially regarding its timing and purpose.

According to sources, Harish Rao’s Delhi tour is closely linked to the ongoing legal dispute surrounding the Kaleshwaram project. The case involves a state-appointed Justice Ghose Commission probing alleged irregularities, the constitutional validity of which has been challenged in the Telangana High Court by KCR, Harish Rao, and other officials. The case has become a major legal flashpoint for the BRS leadership.

The Telangana High Court is scheduled to pronounce its verdict on April 22 regarding the petitions challenging the commission. With the ruling expected to have significant political and legal implications, uncertainty has gripped BRS circles. Party leaders are reportedly preparing for all possible outcomes, including a potential setback in court.

In anticipation of an adverse verdict, the BRS leadership is also preparing to move the Supreme Court immediately. Harish Rao is said to be consulting senior legal experts in Delhi, exploring options such as filing caveats and strengthening arguments based on favourable Supreme Court precedents from similar cases in other states. The party is expected to finalise its next course of action once the High Court verdict is delivered.
