With the Medaram Maha Jatara just days away, authorities in Telangana and neighboring states have ramped up preparations to manage the massive influx of devotees, expected to exceed one lakh. Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Karnataka RTCs will operate special buses to facilitate travel for pilgrims. In addition, South Central Railway (SCR) has announced 28 special trains to run on January 28, 30–31, and February 1, providing direct connectivity to the festival, which is Asia’s largest tribal fair.
The special trains will operate on key routes including Secunderabad–Mancherial, Mancherial–Secunderabad, Secunderabad–Sirpur Kagaznagar, Sirpur Kagaznagar–Secunderabad, Nizamabad–Warangal, Warangal–Nizamabad, Kazipet–Khammam, Khammam–Kazipet, and Adilabad–Kazipet. Telangana RTC will also deploy dedicated buses for devotees traveling to and from Medaram.
According to SCR CPVO A. Sridhar, special Jan Sadharan Unreserved trains have been introduced via Kazipet and Warangal to facilitate travel from various regions. Specific trains include Secunderabad–Mancherial Express (07495) on Jan 28, 30, Feb 1; Mancherial–Secunderabad Express (07496) on Jan 28, 30, Feb 1; Secunderabad–Sirpur Kagaznagar Express (07496) on Jan 29, 31; and Sirpur Kagaznagar–Secunderabad Express (07497) on Jan 29, 31, among others.
The trains will halt at major stations including Moula Ali, Charlapally, Ghatkesar, Bibeenagar, Bhuvanagiri, Vangapally, Alair, Pemberti, Janagama, Raghunathpalli, Ghanpur, Pendyal, Kazipet, Warangal, Hasanparthi, Uppal, Jammikunta, Bizigiri Sharif, Pothkapalli, Odel, Kolanur, Peddapalli, Raghavapuram, Ramagundam, and Peddampet to ensure smooth boarding and deboarding for pilgrims. Authorities have coordinated these arrangements to ensure safe and efficient travel, underscoring a joint effort by Telangana RTC and SCR ahead of one of the region’s largest religious gatherings.
