Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has announced that construction of an airport in Adilabad will commence within a year. He made this statement on Thursday during his visit to Adilabad as part of the Praja Palana Vijayotsavam celebrations. During the event, he laid the foundation stone for development projects worth Rs 18.7 crore and later addressed a large public gathering.
The Chief Minister stated that his government has completed two years in office and that he has been working continuously without taking a single day off. He said the administration is focusing on the development of backward regions without political bias. Revanth Reddy criticised the previous government for allegedly denying permission for opposition MLAs to attend official programs for a decade and even preventing them from entering the Secretariat.
He said the true objective behind Sonia Gandhi’s decision to grant statehood to Telangana was not fulfilled during the previous administration. Highlighting the state’s future development plans, he said the Telangana Rising 2047 documentary has been prepared, and a Global Summit aimed at attracting investments will be held on December 8 and 9. He added that after assuming charge as PCC president, he initiated a movement against the previous government inspired by the spirit of Indravelli and later approved the proposal to develop the Indravelli Amarula Stupa into a tourist destination.
Revanth Reddy recalled that former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy had launched the Pranahita–Chevella project to provide irrigation to Adilabad, but KCR sidelined it and instead executed the Kaleshwaram project at a cost of Rs 1 lakh crore, which collapsed within three years. He alleged irregularities in the project and remarked that disputes have now emerged within that family over illegally amassed wealth. The Chief Minister reaffirmed that the Ambedkar Pranahita–Chevella project will be built at Tummidihatti to supply water to Adilabad. He further announced that 40,000 additional government jobs will be filled after the completion of elections.
