Ahmedabad, Gujarat: A seven-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by a man on a school playground in Ahmedabad, prompting widespread local outrage. According to police, the accused also administered an injection to the child following the assault.
The victim, a second-grade student from Visnagar in Mehsana district, was reportedly lured into a garden behind her school on November 19, where the suspect allegedly touched her inappropriately. The following day, he allegedly sexually assaulted her on the school grounds and injected her in the right arm, reportedly warning her not to disclose the incident.
The girl later informed her parents after experiencing abdominal pain, and she was immediately taken to a hospital. Acting on a complaint filed by the child’s father, police registered a case under the POCSO Act and several other relevant sections. Authorities are examining CCTV footage from the area to apprehend the accused. The type and purpose of the injection remain unclear, with medical reports expected to provide further details.
