Hyderabad: Congress clinched victory in the Jubilee Hills by-election, with candidate Naveen Yadav securing a commanding win over BRS’s Maganti Sunita by nearly 25,000 votes. Reacting to the defeat, BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) stated that wins and losses are a natural part of politics and promised the party would work harder, emphasizing that the BRS will continue its fight until KCR returns as Chief Minister.
“This by-election has reinvigorated our party. The people have made it clear that BRS is the political alternative in the state. Our struggle on issues impacting the public will persist,” KTR said. He praised Maganti Sunita’s efforts despite her lack of political experience, noting her significant contributions during the campaign.

Reflecting on BRS’s performance, KTR remarked, “Over the past two years, BRS has effectively played the role of a strong opposition. We won five constituencies and lost two in the last seven by-elections, highlighting Congress’s failures with our six guarantees to the people. We have been vocal on the ground and on social media, raising awareness without resorting to caste or religion-based politics.”
He also pointed out, “When in power, BRS invested Rs. 5,000 crore in development for Jubilee Hills. On the national stage, Congress has virtually lost its relevance in Bihar. We have presented evidence of ballot rigging in Jubilee Hills, with our candidate apprehending culprits on polling day. This issue must be discussed further. On defections, the Bengal High Court has issued a clear ruling, and by-elections are necessary in ten constituencies across Telangana.”
