Bengaluru: A shocking incident has come to light in the Subramanyapura area of Bengaluru, where a 15-year-old girl allegedly killed her mother with the help of four minor friends after being reprimanded for her behaviour. The deceased has been identified as 34-year-old Nethravathi, a resident of Uttarahalli. Police launched an investigation after her death was initially reported as a suspected suicide but later uncovered a planned murder.
According to officials, the teenager, upset over constant scolding for her friendship with a 17-year-old boy, conspired with her friends to kill her mother. On October 25, the girl invited the four boys— all under 17 years old— to her home. When her mother discovered them in a compromising situation and began to scold her again, the group strangled Nethravathi with a towel. They later staged the scene as a suicide by hanging the body from a ceiling fan with a saree before fleeing the spot.
The truth surfaced after Nethravathi’s sister, who performed the last rites, grew suspicious when the girl failed to attend the funeral and alerted the police. During interrogation, the 15-year-old confessed to the crime, leading to the arrest of all five minors. Police have taken the accused into custody and produced them before the juvenile court for further legal action.
