Hyderabad: Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) President Jaganmohan Rao has been arrested by the CID in connection with alleged misconduct during the recent Indian Premier League (IPL) season. The arrest comes following a comprehensive vigilance investigation that found Rao had exerted undue pressure on the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) franchise regarding ticket allocations.

According to officials, Rao reportedly demanded an additional 10% of tickets beyond the 10% already provided free of cost by SRH to HCA. He also allegedly insisted on a personal quota of tickets, which the franchise refused to provide. The issue escalated during one of the IPL matches when HCA locked corporate boxes, citing lack of ticket allocation. SRH management considered withdrawing from the match in protest. The Telangana government had ordered a vigilance inquiry into the matter, which concluded that Rao had used his position to coerce SRH, prompting legal action and his subsequent arrest.
