Bengaluru: A senior associate at Infosys, Electronic City campus, was arrested for allegedly recording videos of female employees inside a women’s washroom. The accused, 28-year-old Nagesh Swapnil Mali from Andhra Pradesh, was reportedly caught in the act on June 30 by a woman employee who noticed suspicious activity while using the facility.
According to police reports, the woman observed unusual movement from behind a wall and discovered a mobile phone recording from the other side. She immediately raised an alarm, prompting colleagues to intervene and apprehend the accused. Upon confrontation, Mali confessed to the act and apologized.
The incident was promptly reported to the Infosys Human Resources department. A subsequent inspection of Mali’s phone by the HR team revealed more than 30 objectionable videos recorded without consent. Infosys management immediately alerted the police, leading to his arrest.
The case has triggered serious concerns about workplace safety and privacy, with authorities stressing the need for stricter internal security measures and surveillance protocols within corporate premises.
