Hyderabad: The Telangana government is preparing for a cabinet expansion, with three new ministers expected to take oath at Raj Bhavan tomorrow evening. According to highly placed sources, the Congress high command has approved the induction of three leaders, and an official announcement is likely by Friday evening.
Among the frontrunners under the BC quota are senior leaders Vijayashanthi, Vakati Srihari, and Aadi Srinivas. For the SC quota, Addanki Dayakar and Vivek Venkataswamy are reportedly in contention. Intense lobbying is underway from the Madiga community MLAs, who are insisting that at least one ministerial berth be allotted to their group.

In the Reddy community, both Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy and Sudarshan Reddy are hopeful. However, Sudarshan is seen as having an advantage, given the absence of cabinet representation from Nizamabad district so far.
Though there are six vacant berths in the cabinet, the Congress leadership is reportedly planning to fill only three at this stage. Party insiders suggest Sudarshan Reddy and Vakati Srihari have been finalized, with either Addanki Dayakar or Vivek Venkataswamy set to be inducted as the third new minister.
