Hyderabad Metro Revises Fare Structure; New Rates Effective from May 17

Hyderabad: L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Ltd has announced a revision in Hyderabad Metro Rail ticket fares, marking the first significant fare hike since its inception. The minimum fare has been increased from Rs 10 to Rs 12, while the maximum fare has been revised from Rs 60 to Rs 75. The new fare structure will be implemented from May 17.

According to the updated pricing:

Up to 2 stops: Rs 12
2 to 4 stops: Rs 18
4 to 6 stops: Rs 30
6 to 9 stops: Rs 40
9 to 12 stops: Rs 50
12 to 15 stops: Rs 55
15 to 18 stops: Rs 60
18 to 21 stops: Rs 66
21 to 24 stops: Rs 70
Beyond 24 stops: Rs 75

The decision has drawn sharp reactions from daily commuters, with many expressing concerns over the additional financial burden. However, Metro authorities have defended the move, citing operational costs and the need for long-term sustainability.
