BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha stirred political attention on Monday with her sharp remarks at a preparatory meeting for the party’s upcoming Rajatotsavam celebrations. Addressing party cadre in Banswada, Kavitha stated emphatically, “I am not like former Chief Minister KCR who is known for his calm nature. We are all of a rowdy type,” signalling a more aggressive approach against what she termed political intimidation and harassment of BRS workers.
Kavitha alleged that leaders from rival parties, including the Congress, as well as certain police officials, have been threatening BRS workers to deter them from attending party events. She claimed that several BRS leaders and activists had brought such threats to her attention.
Taking a strong stance, the MLC warned that those involved in harassing BRS supporters will be recorded in what she called the “Pink Book” and would not be spared. “We are noting down every name. Not a single person who intimidates our people will be let off,” she said.
Kavitha also alleged that some individuals had made threatening phone calls to prevent public participation in the BRS Rajatotsavam Sabha. “Those who falsely implicated our cadre and dragged them to police stations should not expect forgiveness,” she added, targeting both Congress leaders and certain officials.

‘No Fear of Congress Gimmicks’
Taking aim at the Congress party, Kavitha accused it of making empty promises and misleading the public. “Guarantee cards with Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi’s signatures were distributed door to door, but none of those promises are being honoured today,” she said.
She recalled that the Congress had initially promised Telangana statehood but delayed its formation for a decade, a delay she claimed led to the deaths of hundreds of Telangana youth. “The Congress government, despite just over a year in office, has already drawn widespread public dissatisfaction. It deserves a Nobel Prize for that,” she remarked sarcastically.
KCR’s Sacrifices Instrumental in State Formation
Kavitha highlighted KCR’s pivotal role in achieving Telangana statehood, praising his sacrifices and leadership. “KCR gave up a Union Minister post without hesitation. Telangana did not come through mercy or charity. It was the result of KCR’s struggle and sacrifices,” she said.
She also took a swipe at former CM Kiran Kumar Reddy, who once said Telangana would descend into darkness if granted statehood. “Today, Telangana is a shining example of development. We created irrigation potential for one crore acres and implemented schemes like Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bima,” she added.
Massive Participation Urged for BRS Rajatotsavam
Calling the BRS the custodian of Telangana’s self-respect and identity, Kavitha urged every household to ensure representation at the Rajatotsavam meeting. “History was made under KCR’s leadership. It was the only peaceful struggle in independent India that led to the creation of a state. Only warriors fight until the goal is reached—and Telangana’s dream was fulfilled through BRS,” she concluded.
