YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) senior leader and former minister Kodali Nani has been dealt a blow as his close associate, Kali, was arrested by Andhra Pradesh police. Kali was apprehended by Gudivada police in Assam in connection with the petrol bomb attack on former MLA Ravi Venkateswara Rao’s clothing shop in Gudivada.

The incident, which occurred in December 2022, involved Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders preparing for the death anniversary of Vangaveeti Ranga on December 26. On December 25, Kali allegedly threatened Ravi Venkateswara Rao over the phone, warning him not to proceed with the event. Despite the threat, Rao insisted on going ahead, and Kali reportedly threatened to kill him.
On the same day, associates of Kodali Nani launched a petrol bomb attack on Ravi Venkateswara Rao’s clothing shop. A major disaster was avoided when the police intervened in time before the TDP office could be set on fire. However, the previous government did not take immediate action on the incident. Following a recent complaint, police have now filed a case.
