Weather conditions across India continue to worsen, with dark clouds forming early mornings and intermittent showers disrupting daily life. Several states, including Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan, remain heavily impacted by relentless downpours, triggering floods and landslides that have claimed multiple lives and displaced many residents.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a new alert, forecasting heavy to very heavy rainfall over the next three days in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh. Tamil Nadu and Kerala are expected to receive similar rainfall intensity over the next five days, with extremely heavy rains likely in the Ghats of both states on August 5 and 6. Northeastern and eastern regions are also expected to witness continuous heavy rainfall for the next seven days. Heavy showers are predicted in Marathwada on August 6–7, Konkan and Goa on August 7–8, and parts of central Maharashtra on August 8, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds.
In Delhi, light to moderate rain with thunderstorms was recorded early Tuesday, followed by a change in weather conditions. According to the Regional Weather Forecasting Centre (RWFC), the capital registered a maximum temperature of 33.4°C and a minimum of 27.2°C. Cloudy skies with thunderstorms and heavy rainfall are expected to persist in Delhi until August 10.

Hyderabad witnessed heavy rainfall yesterday, inundating several areas and leaving low-lying regions submerged after over two hours of continuous downpour. Traffic came to a standstill as roads were waterlogged, causing severe inconvenience to commuters. In some neighborhoods, rainwater accumulated to resemble ponds, while strong winds accompanying the rain created panic among residents.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast continued heavy rains across Telangana, with the warning in effect until August 8. A yellow alert has been issued for multiple districts due to a prevailing surface circulation. Widespread rainfall is expected today in Hyderabad, Warangal, Mulugu, Siddipet, Medak, Kamareddy, and other regions of the state.
