Vijayawada is witnessing rising tension following a series of bomb threat calls targeting key locations in the city. Most recently, the Vijayawada Railway Station received a bomb threat call from an unidentified person to the control room, prompting immediate police response.
Authorities quickly deployed bomb disposal squads to conduct a thorough search of the railway station premises. No explosives were found, and after confirming the area was safe, shops were allowed to reopen. Investigations traced the origin of the call to Latur, Maharashtra.
This comes on the heels of previous threats claiming bombs were planted on Bisant Road. The repeated threats have caused considerable anxiety among Vijayawada residents.
In a related incident, an unknown caller warned of a bomb on the LTT Express traveling from Mumbai to Visakhapatnam. Upon arrival at Visakhapatnam Railway Station, bomb disposal and canine units conducted a meticulous search but found no explosives, assuring the safety of passengers and staff. Police continue to investigate these threats as security remains heightened in the region.
