Hyderabad: Vijay Deverakonda’s much-awaited film Kingdom hit theaters worldwide on July 31 and opened to positive reviews and strong audience turnout. The film registered Rs 7.07 crore in India on its opening day from morning to evening shows, while overseas markets contributed heavily, taking the total worldwide share to an estimated Rs 18–20 crore. Pre-bookings alone brought in around Rs 11–12 crore, setting a new record for the highest opening in Vijay’s career.
The film, directed by Gautham Tinnanuri and produced by Naga Vamsi with a massive budget of Rs 130 crore, has been well received for its compelling direction and Vijay’s power-packed performance. Industry reports reveal that Vijay Deverakonda was paid ₹30 crore for the project, making it one of his highest remunerations to date. Music director Anirudh Ravichander reportedly received Rs 10 crore, and director Gautham Tinnanuri was paid Rs 7 crore. With strong word of mouth and continued momentum at the box office, Kingdom is positioned to become one of the biggest hits of Vijay’s career.
