Mumbai: Veteran actor Rakesh Pandey passed away at the age of 77 following a heart attack at Arogya Nidhi Hospital in Mumbai. His final rites were conducted at Shastri Nagar crematorium, with family members in attendance.

Born on April 9, 1940, in Himachal Pradesh, Pandey made his film debut in 1969 with Sara Akash, a performance that earned him the National Award. Over the years, he played pivotal roles in Bollywood and Bhojpuri cinema, featuring in films such as Yeh Hai Zindagi, Woh Main Nahin, Devdas, Dil Chahta Hai, Lakshya, and Black. He was also known for his work in television, appearing in popular serials like Choti Bahu and Dahleez.
Pandey is survived by his wife, daughter Jasmeet, and granddaughter. His last film appearance was in The Rise of Sudarshan Chakra (2023).
