Former Pithapuram MLA Varma has urged the TDP leadership to appoint Nara Lokesh as the Deputy Chief Minister, highlighting his significant contribution in securing record membership for the party. Speaking today, Varma lauded Lokesh’s leadership, asserting that the accomplishment of increasing the party’s membership was solely due to his efforts. He countered claims that the party’s future was uncertain, emphasizing that Lokesh’s leadership had dispelled such doubts with his dynamic approach.
Varma pointed out that every party worker has their own sense of pride, and he criticized certain social media platforms and news channels for distorting facts. He expressed that there was no harm in acknowledging Lokesh’s dedication and hard work.

He also questioned the rationale behind supporting individuals like Jagan, who has faced defeat and is uncertain about his political future, to become the Chief Minister. Varma contrasted this with the growing support for Pawan Kalyan, who has been hailed as a potential CM despite the challenges within his party. He argued that, given Lokesh’s efforts in strengthening TDP and boosting party morale, there was no reason why he should not be considered for the Deputy CM position. Varma made it clear that his appeal is not just his personal opinion, but reflects the sentiments of TDP workers.
