A US F-15 fighter jet recently crashed in the airspace of Iran, triggering a high-intensity search operation for a missing pilot. Of the two pilots onboard, one was rescued safely, while the second remains untraceable. Iranian forces, along with local residents, have launched extensive efforts to locate the missing pilot, as the situation continues to draw international attention.
In a significant development, a local governor reportedly announced a reward for anyone who captures or kills the American pilot, sparking controversy. However, the Iranian Army distanced itself from the statement, clarifying that if the pilot is captured, he would be treated as a “prisoner of war” in accordance with international law and provided with appropriate protection and dignity.
Meanwhile, the Iranian Embassy in Pakistan issued a strong statement on social media, suggesting that the missing pilot would be safer in Iranian custody than under the leadership of Donald Trump. The embassy emphasized that Iran, as a civilized nation, adheres to established norms in treating prisoners of war and respects humanitarian principles.
Adding to the rhetoric, the Iranian Embassy in South Africa criticized the United States, Israel, and their allies, accusing them of inhumane treatment of detainees. It asserted that Iran would follow lawful and humane practices in handling prisoners. With both the US and Iran actively searching for the missing pilot, the situation remains tense, further escalating geopolitical sensitivities in the region.
