The United States, while maintaining a firm public stance over its strikes on Iran, is reportedly facing mounting security concerns over potential retaliatory attacks. American intelligence agencies have warned of a heightened risk of suicide bombings targeting US military installations and civilian interests across the Gulf region, amid escalating tensions with Tehran.
According to intelligence assessments, Iran could activate its proxy groups — including the Houthis, Hamas and Hezbollah — to carry out attacks on American personnel and assets. Security officials believe these groups may be encouraged to launch asymmetric operations in response to recent military developments. Reports indicate that Iranian-linked elements have already carried out a drone strike targeting the US Embassy in Riyadh.
US intelligence agencies have also cautioned about the possibility of suicide attacks in the form of “human bombs,” particularly targeting American military bases in Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. In addition, there are concerns about potential attacks on Jewish places of worship and other sensitive civilian locations in the region.
Following reports that six American soldiers were killed in Iranian-linked attacks, Washington has elevated its threat alert level. The US military is strengthening security measures and enhancing surveillance across its Gulf installations to counter possible suicide operations, as fears of further escalation continue to intensify across the Middle East.
