The conflict in the Middle East has intensified sharply, with rising hostilities between the United States and Iran sending shockwaves across the international community. The situation escalated further after reports that the US targeted and destroyed one of Iran’s tallest bridge structures, prompting a strong retaliatory response from Tehran.
According to reports, joint forces of the United States and Israel carried out coordinated strikes on the B1 Bridge, a key infrastructure link connecting Tehran with Karaj. The 136-meter-high bridge was hit in two separate attacks, leaving at least eight people dead and around 95 others injured. Visuals circulating on social media indicate that a significant portion of the bridge’s central span collapsed the strikes.
Following the attack, US President Donald Trump issued a stern warning to Iran, stating that the destroyed bridge was no longer operational and cautioning that further action could follow if Tehran fails to engage in negotiations. In retaliation, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps released a list of eight strategic bridges across key countries that could be targeted. These include major structures in Kuwait, the UAE, Saudi Arabia-Bahrain, and Jordan, signaling a potential expansion of the conflict beyond Iran’s borders.
Responding to the developments, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi condemned the strikes on civilian infrastructure, stating that such actions would not weaken Iran but instead reflect the moral decline of its adversaries.
